Backtrack Hosted Buyer Bible - The definitive guide to all things 1:1 meetings, scheduled meetings, and hosted buyer meetings

What are hosted buyer events?

Hosted buyer events are structured B2B meetings programs where an organizer pays for qualified buyers' travel and accommodation in exchange for their commitment to attend pre-scheduled one-on-one or small-group meetings with paying sellers (sponsors).

They are sometimes described as a reverse trade show; unlike a traditional trade show where anyone can wander a booth, hosted buyer events are invitation-only, appointment-driven, and built around guaranteed face time between vetted buyers and sellers. The organizer's job is to create the conditions for as many high-quality conversations as possible — including the serendipitous ones that no schedule can manufacture.

When hosted buyer events are run well, sellers walk away with pipeline that pays for the show many times over. When they're run poorly, both sides leave without results — and don't come back.
